Selected for his first Olympic Games (Milan-Cortina 2026) at just 23 years of age, Mathis won three Olympic medals in the skiathlon, individual skate and men's relay. He became the first Frenchman in 20 years to win a medal in an individual event and the most decorated Frenchman in cross-country skiing at a single Olympic Games. These podium finishes were the first individual medals for French cross-country skiing in 20 years, marking a turning point for the discipline. Born in Grenoble, at the foot of the mountains, it was in the Vercors massif that he discovered his passion for cross-country skiing at an early age. He grew up on the slopes, surrounded by peaks, developing a strong taste for the cold, the snow... and the challenge. After joining the French junior and then espoir teams, he joined the elite group at the age of 22. This was a decisive new step that marked his entry onto the world circuit. Driven by performance and progress, his goal is now clear: to establish himself among the world's best cross-country skiers and continue to write the history of French cross-country skiing.
